Cars
Outside of a shop class I took back in Jr. High School, I never really had the "mechanical" mind for working on cars... but I love a "pretty" car! There are some gorgeous classic cars on the road here in Southern California.
Racing
Auto racing fan by osmosis - husband, son, daughter and parents were all big fans way before me... it wasn't until I went to my first race at California Speedway that I really got into it myself. Now I'm very anxious to go to some local dirt tracks this summer with the family and see other types of racing first-hand.
my Dream Car
I've never gotten excited about a car before, but my husband and I were watching the World Series in 2006 and a commercial came on for the then-brand new Dodge Nitro. The shiny black paint scheme with the kick-a** chrome really caught my attention. As soon as the game was over we went to our local dealer and a couple hours later I drove my new Nitro home! It was definitely love at first sight!
Music
I love lots of different types of music - from classic rock to pop, really annoying 80's music (according to my daughter), 90's country (the good stuff - Garth, Reba, Clint, George...) and classical.
Movies
I am a movie junkie... I love the old classics - I think I've seen Gone With the Wind 100 times! Lately I've been getting into some of the quirky independent films that my husband watches on Sundance/IFC, but I love a good comedy or a chick flick ANY day!
Television
My must-see TV requirements include Medium, New Amsterdam, House, The Office and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. My guilty pleasure viewing includes American Idol, The Celebrity Apprentice, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, anything with Gordon Ramsay in it (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and BBC programs as well) and the Moment of Truth.
Reading Material
I absolutely DEVOUR anything by Stephen King and James Patterson. But... I will read anything that catches my eye. I am known to read an entire novel in a day because I MUST know how it ends... then of course I'm bummed because then I don't have anything to read anymore! Magazines: Wired, .NET magazine - plus we have subscriptions to a large variety of racing magazines and sports publications in our home.
