The Lowrider Camry built by Lowrider Magazine is a fusion of heritage, technology and cultures.

2007 marks Toyota's 50th anniversary in the United States and Camry is currently the number-one, best-selling passenger car in America. As much as Camry is a part of the American landscape, Lowrider has also shaped the American automotive car scene with its distinctive look and styling cues. Outfitted with hydraulics, the Lowrider Camry sports a "suicide" two-door, convertible style that is meant to redefine the lowrider genre in the same way that Camry has made an impact on its proud owners and drivers.

This custom-fabricated Camry features rear doors that were molded to the body, while the front doors were extended and made to open “suicide” (reverse) style. The pillar post was moved back four inches. The center portion of the roof was taken away for a panoramic view. The trunk deck lid was molded and the door handles and mirrors were shaved. All of the bodywork and modifications were performed at Camino Real Collision Center in Pico Rivera, Calif.

The colorful custom finish with graphics, pinstriping and gold leafing was created with S.E.M.S. Automotive paint and was the work of noted painters Steve Deman and "The Wizard" at Kolor Kings in Pomona, Calif. The murals were applied by famed lowrider artist “OG Abel.” The Lowrider Camry's distinctive appearance represents the artistry and style of the Southern California car culture.

The inside of the Lowrider Camry is just as spectacular as the exterior, with a custom-fabricated fiberglass interior created by Shot Callers Customs in Rialto, California. California Upholstery hand-stitched the interior. With a hydraulics setup installed by Laid Out Customs and provided by CCE Hydraulics; 520-14 lowrider tires by Coker; fully functional iPod embedded in the steering wheel, four monitors and a state-of-the-art sound system provided by Pioneer with eight speakers and two amplifiers, no aspect of the Lowrider Camry project was overlooked. The Lowrider Camry represents the latest evolution of technology for the automotive industry.
